Raimat El Niu 2023 is a white wine that dazzles with its intense yellow hue tinged with golden highlights. About Raimat El Niu

Each year, as summer draws to a close, the natural instinct of European storks compels them to journey to Africa. However, an increasing number of adult birds are opting to shorten their migration and spend the winter in Spain. Given that the climate is not excessively cold, they nest and breed in elevated locations such as towers, bell towers, and treetops to shield themselves from predators. They can be easily found in small communities that boast agricultural fields, meadows, and lagoons, which allow them to source the diverse prey that makes up their diet. At Raimat, an estate situated in the province of Lleida (Catalonia), they feel right at home. This estate, acquired and reconstructed in 1914 by the Raventós family (owners of Codorníu), is renowned for its commitment to sustainable viticulture, minimizing the use of chemical products, reducing pollution, and optimizing production methods. These are characteristics that this amiable and familiar bird appreciates in its daily life.

Being a common sight in the landscape of Raimat, it is no surprise that the winery has crafted a wine named Raimat El Niu ("the nest" in Catalan). This white wine from the DO Costers del Segre region is composed of the grape varieties Chardonnay, Albariño, and Xarel·lo. These grapes hail from three distinct vineyards and are cultivated under ecological principles, certified by the international entity Bureau Veritas. Harvested at night to prevent oxidation, each variety is vinified separately. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeast at a controlled temperature (16-18º C). Subsequently, the wine remains on its lees for approximately 4 months and then spends 9 months in French oak barrels. Finally, the expert decision of the oenologist guides the final blend.

Three distinct varieties treated separately to achieve a common goal: to attain freshness and fruitiness with a subtle hint of oak. Such is Raimat Niu, a wine perfect for enjoying the summer and ideal for shortening the winter.

The palate is fresh, with an excellent structure and pleasant creaminess. A complex white wine, with a long and elegant finish.

Raimat El Niu de la Cigonya 2019 is a creamy white wine with aromas of tropical fruit, citrus notes and floral hints over a background of hazelnut and toast. On the palate it is fresh, creamy and well structured. A medium-bodied wine with remarkable complexity and a long finish with fine toasted nuances.
