About El Hato y el Garabato De Buena Jera

How many things do we truly need to enjoy the journey? In one of the pages of Don Quixote, Sancho Panza utters a phrase that has almost been forgotten: “dar al diablo el hato y el garabato,” an old way of saying that sometimes it's best to leave complications behind and focus on what truly matters. José Manuel Beneitez and Liliana Fernández named a project after this notion, born from simplicity, freedom, and respect for a land that speaks through its ancient vines.
  
From Aranda del Duero (Castilla y León, Spain), amidst a landscape of canyons, rocks, and vineyards overlooking the Duero, this family project emerged with the intent to revive a heritage seemingly destined for oblivion. El Hato y el Garabato De Buena Jera is a red wine originating from a single plot planted by the family's great-grandfather nearly a century ago, where the old vines of traditional varieties continue to express the identity of a place as beautiful as it is demanding.
 
Crafted with an artisanal and respectful approach, El Hato y el Garabato De Buena Jera embraces the vineyard's personality without masking it. The juan garcía grape and other local varieties coexist in a bottle of serene character, where ripe fruit, floral notes, and a mineral undertone reminiscent of the Arribes del Duero landscape emerge. Its time in wood adds depth and balance, maintaining a freshness that invites gradual discovery.
