On the palate, it enters light and flavourful, with a vibrant tension that sweeps across the palate, giving way to citrus, apple, and a delicate hint of anise. Its balance and pronounced maritime character evoke an afternoon by the Mediterranean, with the tramontana wind cleansing the air and the landscape stretching to the horizon. About Tocat de l'Ala Blanc

Being tocat de l’ala means having a touch of madness, a sense of freedom, and going your own way. In the Empordà (Catalonia, Spain), they are well aware that when the tramontana wind blows, it can easily become infectious. This cold and powerful wind is as much a part of the landscape as the small beaches, slate, or vineyards, leaving its distinct mark on the character of those who live and cultivate this land. Hence, it gives its name to a wine that proudly embraces this free-spirited understanding of the region with a smile.
 
Behind Tocat de l’Ala Blanc are Coca i Fitó and Roig Parals, two ventures that have shared the same passion since 2011: to craft wines that tell the story of the Empordà from within. This adventure takes shape in old vineyards nestled at the foot of the Sierra de la Albera, between Mollet de Peralada, Peralada, and Garriguella, where the tramontana winds, the Mediterranean, and ancient soils of slate and flint create a landscape of contrasts.
 
Tocat de l’Ala Blanc is crafted from a blend of garnacha blanca and macabeo sourced from vineyards aged between 30 and 100 years. The manual harvest and respectful winemaking aim to preserve the fruit's freshness, while its months on lees contribute to a rounder texture. In the glass, it dances between citrus, ripe white fruit, subtle tropical notes, and aromatic herbs, with that Mediterranean freshness that seems to carry a hint of sea breeze.
 
Perhaps that's why Tocat de l’Ala Blanc embodies its land: fresh, luminous, and with a touch of character that doesn’t ask for permission. A white wine that offers a different perspective on the Empordà, allowing a bit of the Mediterranean to fill the glass... and, why not, a small dose of tramontana.
