Rodrigo Méndez O Raio da Vella is a single-varietal white wine made from Albariño grapes from the Rías Baixas region, crafted by Bodegas y Viñedos Rodrigo Méndez.

Bodegas y Viñedos Rodrigo Méndez is a small winery located in Meaño, Pontevedra. It collaborates with the renowned oenologist Raúl Pérez. The winery utilizes stainless steel tanks and 600- and 225-litre barrels. It produces very limited quantities of wine each year, adhering to traditional methods and techniques.

The harvest for Rodrigo Méndez O Raio da Vella is carried out manually in 15kg boxes and comes from young vineyards. Once at the winery, the grapes are pressed and the must is fermented with indigenous yeasts in a 1,500-litre oak foudre. The wine then undergoes a 12-month ageing process in the same foudre. Rodrigo Méndez produces only 1,800 bottles of this wine.

2017 Rodrigo Méndez O Raio da Vella 2017 has an intense nose with aromas of lemon, laurel, fennel, persimmon and grapefruit, on a subtle base note of lees and creamy notes. On the palate it is kind and rounded, and has a lingering, somewhat bitter and mineral finish.
