About Bonnet Cotton Régnié

Bonnet Cotton Régnié is a natural Gamay red wine produced by Pierre Cotton. A wine from the AOC Régnié, Beaujolais.

Pierre Cotton is a young winemaker who began producing wines in 2014. He farms his vineyards organically and produces natural wines.

Bonnet Cotton Régnié is made with grapes from vineyards planted in the 1920s, 40s and 90s. The total area vinified to produce wine amounts to 0.8 hectares, and its soil is mainly yellow granite.

Bonnet Cotton Régnié is fermented in cement tanks and macerated in them for about 20 days. The harvest is partially vatted whole, without destemming, in order to undergo the traditional semi-carbonaceous maceration that is typical of the area. Lastly, the wine is aged for 6 months in foudres and in used barrels.

Bonnet Cotton Régnié is a flexible and elegant wine that is fruity and spicy.

2016 Pierre Cotton Régnié 2016 has aromas of strawberry, raspberry, plum and cherries. On the palate it is vibrant, offering notes of spices, herbs and pepper, and shows a great mineral character. In general it is a flexible and elegant wine.
