Petit Forlong 2022 is a fresh and expressive red wine, combining floral and carnation aromas with the vivacity of currant and other red fruits, set against a deep backdrop of cocoa. As the glass is swirled, notes of dark fruit gradually emerge alongside a suggestive hint of Chinese ink. On the palate, it reveals a vibrant acidity and pronounced tannins that sweep across the cheeks, leaving a delicate saline sensation reminiscent of the Cadiz albariza. Voluminous, flavourful, and full of energy, it possesses that juicy quality that allows conversations to extend effortlessly.

About Petit Forlong

Who said that something small had to be inconspicuous? Petit Forlong carries the name of a wine that travels lightly, one of those that arrives quietly and ends up lingering in the memory. Perhaps because behind that petit lies a white land of albariza, nights of westerly winds, and an Atlantic breeze that sweeps from the sea to the vineyards of El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz, Spain). A landscape that completely transforms our perception of a red wine from Cádiz.
 
The tale of Forlong began in 2007, when Rocío and Alejandro discovered an old estate known as El olivar de Forlón and decided to revive the agricultural life it had lost over the years. The name even retains the trace of its former owner, the Briton Peter Furlong. What remained was Forlong, a project born from a long-awaited dream —for a long time— and a philosophy of viticulture with its roots in the albariza and its gaze fixed on the Atlantic.
 
Petit Forlong is a red wine that combines syrah with a small percentage of tintilla de Rota, an indigenous variety that adds a touch of Cádiz to the blend. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process continues in clay amphorae, where it ferments before spending six months in used French oak barrels. The result is a fresh, juicy red with a curious saline hint, fruit-forward and with a friendly texture that invites drinking without formality.
 
It embodies the essence of those bright days when the sea is near, even if you're not looking at it: freshness, joy, and a certain carefree spirit. Petit Forlong is equally at home at a table full of friends or at an impromptu dinner, when all you crave is to open something delightful and let the conversation take its course.
