About Nicte Rosa Pálido

When the sun vanishes, Nicte takes centre stage. In Greek mythology, this goddess embodies the night and guards the realm of dreams, always shrouded in an aura of mystery. Bodegas Avelino Vegas revives her name for Nicte Rosa Pálido, a delicate and aromatic wine, crafted to be savoured unhurriedly.

Nicte Rosa Pálido is born from the prieto picudo, a particularly intriguing variety for crafting rosés due to its ability to retain freshness and develop an intense aromatic expression. The grapes hail from vineyards over 25 years old, situated on the stony highlands of the province of León, specifically in Santiuste de San Juan Bautista, where the vines thrive at over 800 metres above sea level. Here, the climate does not make life easy for the vine. The thermal contrast of the plateau, with very cold nights even during summer, slows the ripening of the small clusters and allows for the preservation of good acidity alongside a rich aromatic profile. The result is a grape particularly suited for achieving rosés of subtle colour and expressive character.
 
The crafting of Nicte Rosa Pálido begins with the first must obtained by bleeding, the most delicate and fresh fraction of the grape. Following a brief maceration, Nicte Rosa Pálido ferments at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, a process designed to preserve the fruit aromas and the finesse of the variety to the fullest extent.
 
Nicte Rosa Pálido is the most luminous face of the night: a rosé born under the extreme climate of the plateau and transformed, bottle by bottle, into an invitation to let oneself be carried away.
