About Château Langoa Barton

Crests, very common on wine labels, are visual elements that represent the identity and history of the winery or vineyard. These crests usually include emblems, logos or coats of arms that may contain heraldic symbols, such as animals, plants, architectural elements, mythological figures or family references. In the case of Château Langoa Barton , it reflects the connection of the Barton family, the current owners, with history and tradition, as well as their dedication to producing quality wines. As a ‘Grand Cru Classé’ classified in 1855, located at the foot of the river in Saint Julien, the Bartons have been making the most of the climate, topology and geology of the site since 1821. This is clear to see in their eponymous Château Langoa Barton wine.

Sourced from a magnificent terroir of Quaternary gravel that enjoys the mild temperatures resulting from the proximity of the river, Château Langoa Barton is composed of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc varieties. Old vines are respectfully cultivated and the grapes are harvested entirely by hand. After destemming, the berries are carefully selected and crushed in the winery according to their plots. Fermentation lasts 7 to 10 days and maceration about 3 weeks. The wine then ages for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new.

Behind a crest that identifies the winery's excellence and reputation, Château Langoa is a full, deep and meaty red wine that does one of Bordeaux's longest-running winemaking families proud. Undoubtedly one of the smartest purchases of the en primeur campaign.
