About Abel Mendoza Viura

Abel Mendoza Viura is a white wine from Rioja produced by the Abel Mendoza Monge winery. It is a single variety Viura.

The grapes come from old vines 30 years old. These were planted and grown on clay-calcareous soil. After harvesting, Abel Mendoza Viura is fermented in new French oak barrels of 225 litres capacity.

After this phase, Abel Mendoza Viura ages on its lees for four or five months in new French oak barrels.

Abel Mendoza Monge was founded in 1988. It is located in the town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a town in the district of Haro in La Rioja Alta.

2023

Abel Mendoza Viura 2023 is a white wine of restrained elegance, where the ripeness of the fruit is balanced with a vibrant freshness. Its well-defined acidity imparts tension and precision, while its fine texture and subtle mineral character add depth. On the palate, it is enveloping yet without heaviness, with a delicate saline touch that extends its persistence. A perfect wine to enjoy now, but one that promises to reveal its full complexity over time.
2014 Citrus and fruity memories. It's nice, wide and tasty. Good acidity and long finish.
